Hidden Object games make the leap
Posted by ROM, 06/19/2008

It won’t be the first time that casual games have made the leap into the world of console gaming - Cake Mania and Diner Dash are popular examples of games that have already made a name for themselves in the genre. The Hidden Objects games will test the waters with Gogii Game’s Escape the Museum, launching on the Wii for the holidays.

The game centers around a mother and daughter separated by an earthquake in the museum that mom works for. She must then work through the debris to find her daughter by clearing the rubble, finding priceless artifacts and solving puzzles. There will be 12 different areas to find items in, and 25 scenes with a graphic adventure theme where items found must be combined to get past obstacles.

For the uninitiated, the basic play in any hidden object game involves the player being given a very detailed picture full of strange objects and a list of items to find in that picture. Once the required scenes are cleared, the player will typically have to solve a related mini-game to pass to the next level and group of items to be found.

Another Hidden Objects game has also been announced as a Sierra Games launch for the Xbox Live.
